The Audio Note CAP-100-R-22U-16V belongs to the Kaisei range of audio electrolytic capacitors. This series was developed to offer a more affordable alternative to Audio Note’s top-tier Black Gate replacement concept, using the same special electrolyte, foil and construction quality, but without graphite-impregnated paper.
This 22 µF, 16 V version is a polarised capacitor, making it suitable for circuits that require a standard polar electrolytic part. Audio Note developed the Kaisei polarised range to replace low-voltage Cerafine and Silmic types in the values needed for its own products, with improved sonic performance as the design goal.
The Kaisei range is intended for demanding audio use, where passive audio components can have a direct influence on the final result. Its construction focuses on carefully selected materials and consistency, giving DIY builders and service technicians a capacitor option aligned with Audio Note’s own component philosophy.
