        There is quite a lot of distortion when you fit it with the standard cable. The cable carries I2S data which the DAC uses but it also has an unterminated SPDIF feed and this is the cause of the problem. It took a while to find the solution but you can unclip the SPDIF wire from the JST connector at the feed end of the lead and the performance is much improved.
