Amplimo 6N1917 Toroidal power transformer for valve amplifiers 196 VA
Designed for valve amplifier power stages, the Amplimo 6N1917 is a compact toroidal transformer for amplifiers and related audio components that require dedicated high-voltage, heater and auxiliary secondary windings. The two 115 V primary windings can be wired in series for 230 V operation or in parallel for 115 V operation.
The secondary voltages are specified under full ohmic load: 230 V at 720 mA, two 6.3 V windings at 2 A each and 50 V at 0.1 A. This gives the transformer an approximate total secondary power of 196 VA, making it suitable for tube-amplifier power supplies where multiple voltage rails are needed. Regulation is 8% on the 230 V secondary, 7% on the 6.3 V secondaries and 4% on the 50 V secondary.
The transformer measures 113 mm in diameter and 51 mm in height, with a weight of 2.3 kg excluding the supplied mounting hardware. The primary leads and 230 V secondary leads are flexible and approximately 200 mm long, while the remaining secondary leads are solid and approximately 200 mm long. Included mounting materials consist of one 90 mm metal washer, two 90 mm neoprene washers and one M5 x 60 bolt with nut.
The 6N1917 carries KEMA KEUR, ENEC, CE and UL/CSA approvals, with KEMA certificate 96 2307 and UL file number E320377. Time-lag fuses should be used: 2.5 A 5 x 20 mm IEC127 high I²t for 115 V mains, 1 A 5 x 20 mm IEC127 high I²t for 230 V mains, plus secondary fusing of 0.8 A for the 230 V winding, 2 A for each 6.3 V winding and 0.16 A for the 50 V winding.
