The Amplimo 3N604 is designed as a toroidal power transformer for valve amplifier builds. It provides two 115 V primary windings, allowing operation on 115 V mains with the primaries connected in parallel or on 230 V mains with the primaries connected in series. This makes it a practical choice for suitable amplifiers that require a dedicated tube amplifier transformer.
The secondary side offers three outputs for typical valve amplifier power requirements: 250 V at 200 mA, 6.3 V at 2.2 A and 30 V at 0.1 A. All voltages are specified under full ohmic load, with 10% regulation. For builders selecting power supplies and related transformer hardware, these clearly defined secondary ratings help simplify integration.
With a diameter of 95 mm, a height of 36 mm and a weight of 0.95 kg, the 3N604 is compact while still providing a 67 VA rating. All leads are solid and approximately 200 mm long, giving enough length for neat internal wiring in compatible chassis layouts and DIY audio components.
The transformer is supplied with mounting materials: one 70 mm metal washer, two 70 mm neoprene washers and one M5x50 bolt with nut. It carries KEMA KEUR, ENEC, CE and UL/CSA approvals. Time-lag fuses are required, with 0.8 A 5x20 mm IEC127 high I²t for 115 V primary operation and 0.4 A 5x20 mm IEC127 high I²t for 230 V primary operation. Additional protection is required for each secondary, making it important to complete the installation with suitable amplifier accessories and protection components.
