The Amplimo 1N242 is designed for valve amplifier power supply sections where a compact toroidal transformer is required. Its primary windings can be connected in series for 230 V mains operation or in parallel for 115 V operation, making it suitable for different mains configurations when installed correctly.
The transformer provides two secondary outputs: 230 V at 60 mA and 6.3 V at 2.5 A. This makes it a practical component for tube amplifier projects that need a high-voltage secondary alongside a 6.3 V heater supply. Within an amplifier build, it fits naturally alongside amplifier accessories and related power supplies components.
With a 70 mm diameter, 34 mm height and 0.44 kg weight without mounting materials, the 1N242 offers a compact installation footprint. All leads are solid and approximately 200 mm long, giving you practical connection length for internal wiring in an amplifier chassis or other suitable enclosure.
Mounting hardware is included: one 50 mm metal washer, two 50 mm neoprene washers and one M5 x 40 bolt with nut. The transformer carries KEMA KEUR, ENEC, CE and UL/CSA approvals, with KEMA certificate 96 2307 and UL file number E320377. Time-lag fuses are required, with 0.16 A for 230 V mains operation and 0.315 A for 115 V mains operation, and additional protection is required for the 230 V secondary.
