        Dayton Audio CFC180-8 6.5" Carbon Fiber Woofer 8 Ohm

         

        The Dayton Audio CFC180-8 is built around a woven carbon fiber cone, giving this woofer a strong combination of low moving mass and rigidity. That makes it a practical choice for builders who want clean midbass performance and extended upper range from compact audio components.

         

        With a usable frequency range of 45 to 6,000 Hz, the CFC180-8 is well suited to compact 2-way speaker designs. Its 86.6 dB sensitivity at 2.83V/1m, 51 Hz resonance frequency and 0.51 Qts provide a useful foundation for DIY enclosure and crossover development.

         

        The motor structure includes a raised pole piece that helps create a more symmetrical magnetic field for controlled displacement. A vented pole piece improves voice coil cooling, helping reduce power compression during higher-output use.

         

        The 8 ohm impedance makes the CFC180-8 a strong option for dual-woofer and other multi-driver layouts. With 40 watts RMS power handling, 4 mm Xmax and a 25 mm voice coil, it offers a balanced specification set for compact loudspeaker projects.
