        The Dayton Audio CFC180-4 is a 4 Ohm woofer built around a woven carbon fiber cone. This cone construction keeps moving mass low while maintaining the rigidity needed for clean, controlled midbass and midrange performance.

         

        With a usable frequency range of 50 to 5,000 Hz, the CFC180-4 is well suited to compact 2-way speaker designs. Its 90.6 dB sensitivity at 2.83V/1m helps deliver high output without requiring excessive amplifier power.

         

        The motor structure includes a raised pole piece to create a more symmetrical magnetic field, supporting controlled displacement across the driver’s working range. A vented pole piece improves voice coil cooling, helping reduce power compression during higher-output use.

         

        Key parameters include an Fs of 52 Hz, Qts of 0.43, Vas of 11.5 liters, 4 mm Xmax and 40 watts RMS power handling. These specifications make the CFC180-4 a practical choice for DIY audio components projects where efficiency, bandwidth and compact cabinet compatibility are important.
