        Dayton Audio CFC120-8 4.5" Carbon Fiber Extended Range Woofer 8 Ohm

         

        The Dayton Audio CFC120-8 is built around a woven carbon fiber cone that balances low moving mass with high rigidity. This gives the woofer a clean and detailed character, while the 8 ohm impedance makes it easy to integrate into a wide range of passive designs.

         

        With a usable frequency range of 50 to 8,500 Hz, the CFC120-8 is well suited to compact 2-way speaker designs. Its 84.0 dB sensitivity at 2.83V/1m and 30 watts RMS power handling provide a practical performance balance for small enclosures and desktop or nearfield projects.

         

        The motor system uses a vented pole piece to improve voice coil cooling, helping to reduce power compression during longer listening sessions. Key parameters include an Fs of 60 Hz, Qts of 0.56, Vas of 4.61 liters and BL of 5.13 Tm, giving builders useful data for enclosure and crossover planning.

         

        A 2.5 mm Xmax gives this compact driver useful low-frequency excursion, while the low-profile flange supports both flush and surface mounting. Combined with its extended upper response, the CFC120-8 is a versatile choice for detailed compact audio components where space is limited.
