        Dayton Audio CFC120-4 Carbon Fiber Extended-Range Woofer

        The Dayton Audio CFC120-4 is built around a woven carbon fiber cone that combines low moving mass with high rigidity. This gives the woofer a clean and detailed character, while the 4 ohm impedance makes it well suited for compact speaker designs where practical amplifier compatibility and strong output are important.

         

        With a usable frequency range of 50 to 8,500 Hz, the CFC120-4 is a versatile choice for compact two-way, wideband, and small-format speaker projects. Its 87.3 dB sensitivity at 2.83V/1m and 30 watts RMS power handling provide a practical balance for desktop, nearfield, and other space-conscious systems.

         

        The motor system uses a vented pole piece to improve voice coil cooling, helping reduce power compression during longer listening sessions. Key parameters include an Fs of 57 Hz, Qts of 0.45, Vas of 4.46 liters, 3.6 ohm DC resistance, 0.3 mH inductance, and a 25 mm voice coil, giving builders useful data for cabinet and crossover planning.

         

        An Xmax of 2.5 mm gives this compact driver useful low-frequency excursion, while the low-profile frame supports both flush and surface mounting. Combined with its extended high-frequency range, the CFC120-4 is a strong option for detailed compact audio projects where space is limited.
