S.M.S.L. PL150 Black + A50 Pro CD listening bundle with Hi-Res CD player and 2.1 amplifier
This bundle is designed as a practical compact home audio solution for listeners who want to enjoy physical CDs with modern connectivity. The PL150 Black handles disc playback and digital-to-analogue conversion, while the A50 Pro adds amplification for passive main speakers and a passive subwoofer, making the two units a convenient matched setup for a compact stereo or 2.1 system.
The PL150 is a compact Hi-Res CD player built around a CS43198 DAC. It supports 12 cm CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 CD, HDCD and MQA-CD playback, and offers RCA line output alongside optical and coaxial raw digital outputs for use with external DAC converters. For private listening, it also includes 3.5 mm single-ended and 4.4 mm balanced headphone outputs with direct volume control.
The A50 Pro adds the flexibility expected from modern compact amplifiers. It supports Bluetooth 5.0, USB, HDMI ARC, optical and line input, so it can connect to the PL150, a TV or other digital and analogue sources. Output power is 70 W x 2 for the main channels at 4 ohms and 100 W for the subwoofer channel at 2 ohms, allowing the amplifier to drive a passive 2.1 speaker system from a very small chassis.
System tuning is handled directly by the A50 Pro, with adjustable EQ, bass and treble, plus high-pass and low-pass settings with ten crossover points each. The subwoofer output level can be adjusted independently, helping you match the bundle to different passive main channel speakers and subwoofer speakers.
