The MK402 speakers offer incredible sound quality in an almost unbelievable size. The drivers used in this design play a large role in this small speaker. The 10.2cm woofer is easily able to play to 60 Hz and still play the vocal range impressively well. The 1.91cm tweeter is capable of producing high-frequencies with a wide dispersion extremely well. These two drivers paired with our simple yet effective crossover create a soundstage that is sure to awe even the most harsh of critics.

Beauty More than Skin deep

The MK402 features an attractive textured, black vinyl finish that stands out at first glance. The cabinet offers a unique geometric design for the baffle that sets it apart from much more basic speakers in its price range. The grill is removable and made with a high-quality black cloth that discretely obscures the most appealing features of this design, the drivers.

Elegant 1.91cm Silk-Dome Tweeter

The 1.91cm tweeter is elegant with a very airy top-end that can be appreciated by anybody that enjoys the delicate side of music that is often left behind by most speakers. The dispersion from this tweeter provides a life-like ambiance that truly sets a scene for the music.

Impressively low Frequency Extension from a 10.2cm Woofer

The woofer is able to play down to the 60 Hz range with ease. A 10.2cm woofer playing low frequencies would normally limit the upper-frequency range, that is not the case here. The woofer plays through a large portion of the vocal range, adding coherency and smoothness to music.

More Than Just a Capacitor

The crossover featured in this design utilizes a 2.5 kHz, 2nd order low pass and a 3rd order high pass, both utilizing acoustical slopes. The board is then affixed to the rear of the recessed terminal cup, which features a pair of 5-way gold-plated binding posts.

Sound too dull

Excellent sound for such small speakers, I use them as table top speakers. Some tweaking with equalizer at middle frequencies improves the sound.

Schöne kleine Kompaktlautsprecher für die man überall einen Platz findet. Klanglich wird man in dieser Preisklasse wohl nichts besseres finden. Vor allem der Bassbereich ist der Hammer. In den oberen Mitten gibt es allerdings einen deutlich hörbaren einbruch durch den Frauenstimmen ziemlich zurückhaltend klingen. Auch manche Instrumente wirken recht schwach mit wenig Durchsetzungsvermögen. Aber bei dem Preis kann man das noch verschmerzen. ...

Für den Preis nicht selbst zu bauen. Die Betonung des Hochtonbereichs ist bei der X Version, wohl durch die Überarbeitung der Frequenzweiche, verschwunden. Stimmen klingen detailliert und natürlich, Die Räumlichkeit könnte besser sein, vielleicht kommt ja eine Version mit 1 Zoll Hochtonkalotte, niedrgerer Trennfrequenz und damit besserer Räumlichkeit oder sogar eine FAST Version mit DMA 45 oder 58

Phantastische Boxen. Ich betreibe sie an einem alten class A JVC Verstärker. Meines Erachtens ein super Sound mit klarem Fundament ohne unnötigen Gebrummel. Für diesen Preis fast verschenkt. Martyr besorge ich mir die Bluetooth Version für die Küche. Ein Hit!

Small and lovely loudspeakers. High quality finiture, non intrusive design and simply to place. Probably, reproduction of low frequencies is not their cup of thea (but physics can be beated). Ideal for near field listening if paired with good solid state amps. Recommended to all.

I am just amazed by the quality of this speaker! It has a such a full sound and a rich bass despite it´s small woofer. This woofer also really excells in the mids & highs and the combination with the tweeter is better than before. Probably due to the improved crossover design, The sound is just so much cleaner now. I doubt if there is a product that offers you more for this little money.
