This product bundle pairs the miniDSP SHD Streaming High Definition audio processor with the UMIK-1 measurement microphone, making it ideal for precise acoustic measurements and Dirac Live room correction in a serious home audio system. The SHD functions as a DSP-based network streamer, preamplifier and room-correction platform, while the UMIK-1 provides calibrated measurement input for setup and tuning.
The SHD is built around a 32-bit floating-point 400 MHz Analog Devices SHARC DSP and 32-bit converters with a measured 120 dB dynamic range and 0.0003% THD+N. It supports stereo digital inputs via USB Audio, AES/EBU, SPDIF and optical, plus Gigabit Ethernet for network audio streaming. Analog inputs are available on balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, while the four processed outputs are available as balanced XLR, unbalanced RCA and SPDIF digital outputs.
Beyond streaming and room correction, the SHD offers flexible DSP tools for system integration. It provides 10 PEQ bands per channel, a matrix mixer, compressor, limiter and crossover functions with roll-off up to 48 dB/octave. This makes it suitable for applications such as subwoofer integration, active crossover setups and tuning complete DSP-controlled stereo speakers. The SHD is also Roon Ready and includes control through miniDSP Device Console for live DSP setting control and over-the-air upgrades.
The included UMIK-1 is an omni-directional USB measurement microphone with a 6 mm electret capsule, die-cast aluminum body and driverless USB Audio Class 1 operation for Windows, Mac and Linux. With its calibration file loaded, it delivers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response within ±1 dB, 24-bit ADC conversion at 48 kHz and a maximum SPL of 133 dB at 1 kHz. The microphone comes with a unique serial-number calibration file, including on-axis and 90-degree data, plus a 2 m USB cable, mini-stand, microphone clamp, windscreen and hard cardboard case.
