The JDM-PIO-12-CU-0,27 is an entry-level Duelund air-core copper foil inductor made for demanding loudspeaker crossover work. As one of the key crossover components in a speaker design, it uses annealed pure copper foil instead of conventional wire to support a clean, natural and dynamic response with low loss.

Duelund builds these coils from 150 micrometre thick copper foil with a 20 mm height, corresponding to 12 AWG. The foil is wound onto a compressed paper former and insulated with waxed/oiled paper, while the integral foil itself is used as the terminal material for a direct and robust construction.

The JDM Wax PIO construction is fully deep vacuum impregnated under high pressure with Duelund’s proprietary WPIO dielectricum. This process takes several days and gives the inductor strong damping properties, high mechanical stability and reduced sensitivity to vibration and microphony.

Designed for audio crossover networks, filters and electronics, this inductor is especially suited to high-quality speakers where component behaviour directly affects the final sound. Its zero-plastic build, pure copper foil conductor and wax/paper/oil dielectric make it a refined choice for serious DIY loudspeaker projects.
