Duelund Coherent Audio JDM-PIO-12-CU-0,22 0.22 mH 5% Pure Copper Foil Air-Core Inductor
The JDM-PIO-12-CU-0,22 is built around Duelund’s entry-level air-core copper foil inductor concept for loudspeaker crossovers. Instead of conventional wire, it uses annealed pure copper foil measuring 150 µm thick and 20 mm high, corresponding to 12 AWG. The foil is wound on a compressed paper former and insulated with waxed and oiled paper.
As part of a high-quality selection of crossover components, this inductor is designed to preserve signal integrity in demanding audio crossover networks. Copper foil construction offers a highly responsive alternative to equivalent wire coils, supporting a clear, natural and dynamic sound with low distortion and minimal loss.
Duelund’s WPIO dielectricum and full deep vacuum impregnation process give the coil its strong mechanical damping and stability. The inductor is impregnated under high pressure over several days, helping reduce microphony and vibration-related noise that can affect sound quality in sensitive coils.
The JDM series is the non-potted Duelund inductor range, using the same core principles of pure metal foil, paper former construction and WPIO impregnation. The integral copper foils are used as the terminals, maintaining a direct material path through the component for reliable integration into loudspeaker crossover designs.
