The Dayton Audio PCS12-4 is a 12" subwoofer driver designed for strong bass performance and physical low-frequency impact. Its paper cone is finished with a grey poly coating and paired with an inverted dust cap, giving the driver a clean, contemporary look while retaining the responsive behavior expected from paper cone woofers.
With a resonant frequency of 30 Hz and a usable frequency range of 25 to 300 Hz, the PCS12-4 is well suited to deep bass reproduction. Its 90.6 dB sensitivity at 2.83V/1m helps deliver efficient output, while the 4 Ohm nominal impedance makes it a practical choice for many compatible low-frequency amplifier setups.
The driver uses a large-roll rubber surround to support long excursion and long-term reliability. A 7 mm Xmax, 341 cm³ displacement capability and 487 cm² cone area give it the mechanical capacity needed for authoritative bass output in demanding low-frequency applications.
For DIY builders selecting audio components, the PCS12-4 offers a balanced specification set with 180 watts RMS power handling, a 39 mm voice coil and a fully vented motor system for improved heat dissipation during use.
