        Dayton Audio PCS10-4 10" Paper Cone Subwoofer Driver 4 Ohm

         

        The Dayton Audio PCS10-4 is built around a 10" grey coated paper cone with an inverted dustcap, giving the driver a clean, modern look while keeping the moving assembly suitable for low-frequency work. As a dedicated subwoofer, it combines a low 33 Hz resonant frequency with an 88.8 dB sensitivity rating at 2.83V/1m.

         

        A large roll rubber surround helps the woofer deliver controlled excursion, supported by 5.6 mm Xmax and 184 cm³ Vd. The motor system provides a BL of 9.1 Tm, while the 36 mm voice coil and vented construction help maintain thermal stability during higher-output use.

         

        With 150 watts RMS power handling and a usable frequency range of 30 Hz to 1,000 Hz, the PCS10-4 offers flexibility for low-frequency sections in audio components projects. Its 4 ohm impedance, 4 ohm Re and 1.9 mH inductance make it a straightforward choice when matching the driver to suitable amplification and crossover design.

         

        The driver’s Thiele-Small parameters include Qts of 0.64, Qms of 4.91, Qes of 0.73 and Vas of 49 liters. These values, together with an Sd of 328 cm² and Mms of 72.7 g, give builders the key data needed to model enclosure behaviour and tune the final low-frequency response.
