        CSS DS701 Waveguide Bookshelf Speaker Kit Pair

         

        The CSS DS701 is a limited-run DIY speaker kit built around the LD25X tweeter in a custom-designed, all-aluminum waveguide. As part of its limited availability, this kit is offered only with the flat pack and Superior crossover configuration.

         

        Its tonal balance is very similar to the 1TD-X, while the improved directivity makes the DS701 especially suitable for rooms with more reflections. As a pair of bookshelf speakers, it is designed to deliver controlled dispersion and a refined presentation in typical home listening spaces.

         

        The crossover point has been lowered to around 1200 Hz. Combined with the waveguide, this helps improve distortion performance at the low end of the tweeter range, supporting cleaner integration between the drivers.

         

        The DS701 kit has a product weight of approximately 27.2 kg. For builders looking in the DIY kits category, it offers a focused CSS design with waveguide loading, a flat pack, and the Superior crossover included.
