      The Jantzen Audio Litz Wire Wax Coil is a true innovation in audio grade inductors. These are the only Wax impregnated Litz Inductors on the market. Litz wire enables inductors to have reduced skin effect and lower dcr which results in more dynamic headroom. The advantage of Litz Wire Coils is that they have many of the advantageous properties of foil-based inductors but are smaller in size.

      The Litz Wire Wax Coi was co-engineered with Audiothlon™ in Poland. Audiothlon™ was looking for an inductor with a price-point and performance level placed somewhere in the middle between wire based and foil-based inductors. The advantage of Litz Wire Coils is that they have many of the advantageous properties of foil-based inductors but are smaller in size. Also, they have have a lower price-point compared to foil based inductors. Depending on the specific crossover design, these litz wire coils can be a good substitute for foil-based inductors. Litz wire enables inductors to have reduced skin effect and lowered resistance, which in turn offers more dynamic headroom. The wax impregnation keeps the windings in place and eliminates distortion and microphonic effect. The Litz Wire Wax Coil offers improved dynamic headroom and a better (larger) surface for the travel of electrons (compared to standard type single-wire inductors).

       

      All Jantzen Audio inductors, both wire and foil based are made with copper that is in accordance with ETP (Electrolytic-Tough-Pitch) C11000 and an IACS certification of a minimum of 100% conductivity. C11000 copper has a guaranteed purity of 99.9% or higher. The copper purity will often be higher, but 99.9% is the margin which our suppliers of copper wire and copper foil will guarantee as a minimum. The oxygen content of ETP C11000 certified copper is between 0.02 and 0.04%.
