The HiVi Swans DIY2.2-A is a complete DIY loudspeaker kit for building a stereo pair of compact 2-way bookshelf speakers. Designed as a fourth-order vented system, it offers full-range sound with stable imaging, an 86 dB sensitivity, and recommended amplifier power from 10 W to 120 W.

The kit combines a long-throw bass-midrange driver with a 76 mm voice coil and a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter. The woofer uses a mineral-filled polypropylene cone and a shielded vented magnet system for controlled low-frequency performance, while the tweeter is built to handle elevated temperatures and delivers clear, refined high frequencies with strong vocal presence.

To make assembly easier, the cabinets are already assembled and finished with a vinyl wrap, and the crossovers are already assembled as well. I was so surprised by the weight of the drivers and the cabinets. Everything feels like its of a very high quality. The cabinets and crossovers had been put together already, so it was reasonably easy to do the rest. If I was picky, the speaker screws sheared off very easily, but that might be down my lack of experience. The sound quality was phenomenal, but the lower end wasn't as low as I've read in reviews. I will need the subwoofer still.

Hele fijne speakers, hebben mijn verwachting ruim overtroffen! De cabinets en crossover zijn in tegenstelling tot de omschrijving al pre-assembled. Is een kwestie van speakerdraden solderen, foam aanbrengen aan de binnenzijde, en de drivers monteren. Ongeveer een uurtje werk in totaal. Tip: meet de speakerdraden goed uit, er zit namelijk precies genoeg lengte bij. De speakers hebben een zeer helder geluid, sterke maar gecontroleerde bass (...
