      The Beyma SMC-280N is a lightweight 1” exit compression driver designed for clean high-frequency performance in compact audio systems. With a 1.75” edgewound aluminum voice coil and polyester diaphragm, it delivers high sensitivity and extended bandwidth with low distortion, making it ideal for portable and installed sound applications.

      Beyma SMC-280N Compression Driver

       

      The Beyma SMC-280N is a compact and efficient 1” exit compression driver engineered for clarity, extended response, and thermal stability in high-frequency reproduction. Utilizing a 1.75” edgewound aluminum ribbon voice coil and lightweight polyester diaphragm, the SMC-280N offers a smooth frequency range from 0.8 to 18 kHz, ideal for small- to mid-sized PA systems and monitors. This driver provides a program power rating of 100 W above 1.5 kHz, backed by a high sensitivity of 105 dB (1W/1m). The ferrite magnet motor structure achieves a flux density of 1.65 T and a Bl factor of 8.5 N/A, ensuring strong transient response and output with minimized distortion. Designed for compact installation, the unit has an overall diameter of 102 mm and a shallow 53 mm depth. It supports flexible mounting options with three M5 threaded holes spaced 120º on a 57 mm circle and two additional M5 holes 180º apart on a 76.2 mm circle. At only 1.3 kg, the SMC-280N is a versatile choice for mobile rigs, compact arrays, and fixed installations where space, weight, and audio quality are all priorities.
