        Volt CX1601 Full-Range Coaxial Driver

         

        The Volt CX1601 is a 6.5" coaxial drive unit combining a lightweight paper pulp cone for bass/midrange with a centrally mounted 28mm soft dome tweeter. The tweeter is ferrofluid cooled and powered by a neodymium magnet, delivering precise high-frequency reproduction and dynamic headroom. An integral passive crossover ensures seamless integration between the driver components.

         

        This full-range unit is ideal for compact studio monitors and critical listening environments, offering a frequency range of 50Hz to 20kHz and sensitivity of 89dB. The symmetrical field magnet system, critically doped cone, and double rear suspensions ensure low coloration and distortion, even at higher SPLs. The robust diecast aluminium chassis is vented to increase airflow over the voice coil and magnet, reducing power compression and enhancing thermal stability.

         

        With optimized Thiele-Small parameters for sealed and vented enclosures, the CX1601 supports box volumes from 10 to 20 litres. Its ±6mm linear excursion and 100W AES power rating make it suitable for demanding studio, broadcast, or installation applications where clarity and tonal accuracy are paramount.
