    It has clear sound and a surprisingly deep bass for such a small speaker. The carbon fiber looks beautiful in my red cabinet.

    Firstly, i want to thank Tom from SoundImports for his fantastic advice and turnaround service during the Christmas season, which ensured i got these midranges ASAP.
    I have some original Def Tech Mythos II , which i have owned since 2002 and use as a front stage accross my HT system. One of the midranges blew and i was not able to source an original replacement.
    Having said that and mindful that the CF 120's are 4 ohm, and not exactly 100% matched in specs, I still decided to pull the trigger and buy 6 to replace all the old drivers with new ones. Now, I drive the Mythos with Denon POA4400 mono blocks... so they are not short of power but I have to admit I always felt they were a little 'hang back' in their presentation, especially when i compare to my Infinity Kappa's in the midrange (which are also rather hungry). Anyway, i started the replacment on the blown unit and simply hooked up the drivers in serial as the internal factory arrangement is parallel. I tested that speaker and immediately could tell a difference in comparison to the other channel with original drivers - and this, without running in. For me, it was clear the soundstage was wider, clearer and more robust. Simple as that. I proceeded to replace the other 4 midranges for the LF and Centre and could not be happier. Not everything went witout a hitch. If anyone wants these for Mythos, they are a facia match but the magnet is slightly larger in circumference to the original which makes it 'sit' about 1-2mm higher into the aluminium back enclosure. This means that the screws attaching the fascia of the speaker to the back enclosure in the middle section are hard to get back in and ever so slighlty not a straight fascia when all screws are in.... this should be sorted by getting slightly longer screws in the same size and potentially putting a gasget around the entire fascia mount to raise it by the required 1-1/2mm. However, in the end this is not a deal breaker. So all i can say is that i am very happy with these little guys given the small amount of choice at this size and, that arranging them in series for 8ohm has actually in my case, improved the Mythos II sonically. I was skeptical before going ahead but have no regrets. Highly recommended.
