PRV Audio WG270Ph Professional Compression Driver

The PRV Audio WG270Ph compression driver is engineered for professional loudspeaker systems where efficiency and vocal projection are critical. It features a 2" (50 mm) copper voice coil wound on a Kapton® former, combined with a phenolic diaphragm to ensure durability and stable performance under continuous high-power operation. With a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and a rated power handling of 75 watts RMS (150 watts program), the WG270Ph is well suited for mid-high frequency duties in PA cabinets and horn-loaded designs.

Operating across a frequency response of 600 Hz to 8,000 Hz (-10 dB), the driver achieves a sensitivity of 106.5 dB at 2.83 V / 1 m, allowing for high output with minimal amplifier power. A recommended high-pass crossover of 500 Hz (12 dB/octave) supports safe full-power handling. The ferrite magnet assembly delivers a flux density of 1.10 T, contributing to consistent performance and strong transient response.

Physically, the WG270Ph integrates the WG11-25 plastic waveguide, offering controlled dispersion in a compact form factor. Overall dimensions are 115.5 x 115.5 mm (4.54" x 4.54") with an overall depth of 127 mm (5.00") and a mounting depth of 120 mm (4.72"). The baffle cutout diameter is 102 mm (4.01"), and the net weight is 1.22 kg (2.69 lbs), making it easy to integrate into custom enclosures.
