      The SEAS Lucid is meticulously engineered to provide audiophiles with a premium DIY speaker solution that combines state-of-the-art driver technology with the flexibility of digital signal processing. Central to this kit are the SEAS Metamodal TPCD drivers: the T29X001 1" dome tweeter and the W16NX005 6.5" woofer. The tweeter's Metamodal TPCD dome balances stiffness, weight, and damping, ensuring clear and accurate high-frequency reproduction. The woofer's large excursion capability and compact size deliver dynamic low-end performance with wide dispersion, facilitating a seamless transition between drivers.

       

      The recommended enclosure is a 14-liter closed box, chosen to eliminate issues associated with ported designs, such as port noise and midrange leakage. This design enhances transient response and provides a tight, controlled bass. The wider baffle lowers the baffle step frequency, adding body to the midrange and contributing to a balanced tonal character.

       

      The active crossover is implemented using a miniDSP 2x4 HD Boxed, allowing for rapid testing and fine-tuning of various setups. This approach enables precise EQ adjustments, particularly beneficial for tailoring the low-end response of the closed-box design. The crossover is configured to achieve a smooth and slightly declining response within the listening window (0-30 degrees) and a consistent power response. An all-pass filter is employed to align the phase of the drivers over a broad frequency range, ensuring a seamless crossover at approximately 3.3 kHz. Additionally, a high-pass filter at 40 Hz is applied to the woofer to suppress distortion from excessive low-frequency excursion, with the option to adjust or disable this filter based on user preference and SPL requirements.
