I have owner a pair of Meadowlark Shearwater speakers since 1998. The mid/bass driver is a Scan Speak Classic 18W/8545-01. I have been extremely satisfied by these speakers from the very beginning. I have had to renew the mid/woofer drivers twice in recent years when they stopped working. I don't put a lot of volume through them, so I cannot account for the failures. The driver has low overall distorsion. So it is a good choice as a midbass / midrange between 80 Hz to 2200 Hz in a active system.
