      PRV Audio 8MR450A Professional Mid Range Driver

       

      The PRV Audio 8MR450A is an 8" professional midrange driver designed to deliver crisp and clean mid frequencies across a wide 80–9,500 Hz range. With a high sensitivity rating of 96 dB at 1W/1m, it is capable of producing powerful sound output even with moderate amplification. The 1.5" CCAW voice coil, paired with a Kapton former, ensures reliable performance under thermal stress, while the stamped steel frame adds structural integrity without extra weight.

       

      Optimized for car audio systems, studio monitors, and portable PA setups, the 8MR450A balances power and efficiency with 225 Watts continuous power handling and a recommended high-pass crossover at 140 Hz. Its compact mounting depth of 3.21" (81.5 mm) and versatile 8-ohm impedance make it suitable for a wide range of custom installations. With tight mechanical control, evidenced by a Qms of 15.19 and an Xmax of 4.00 mm, it reproduces mid frequencies with precision, making it a favorite for both sound quality and SPL builds.
