The second-generation Pluvia 7HD is designed to supersede our original Alpair 7 series drive units. It employs many of the same components, and has a very similar balance of frequency response and Thiele / Small values to the old Alpair model, packaged in the more efficient and convenient Pluvia frame.

Markaudio Pluvia 7 HD Chrome Full-range Woofer

The second-generation Pluvia 7HD is designed to supersede our original Alpair 7 series drive units. It employs many of the same components and has a very similar balance of frequency response and Thiele / Small values to the old Alpair model, packaged in the more efficient and convenient Pluvia frame. With a mounting depth of less than 4mm, the Pluvia may be surface or flush-mounted, and the design of the mounting legs is very open, allowing good airflow to the rear.

The low-mass coil, suspension, and shallow-profile cone are highly efficient. Frequency response extends beyond 30KHz, and the generous 4mm (1-way) Xmax and conveniently balanced T/S parameters allow 40Hz bass output in suitable enclosure designs. The sound character is neutral and highly detailed, with excellent off-axis performance. It is an extremely flexible drive unit for music, small HT and commercial AV applications, and offers exceptional performance at an affordable price point.

I bought 2 for my stereo player/radio diy project. These speakers are exactly what their specs are saying. Thru all frequencies they produce a very pleasant, no distortion or harshness sound. From the deep base of Pink Floyd to the softness of George Benson's guitar it is total enjoyment of the music. I never listen too loud, but they can be very loud.

Good stuff! These units surprised me. Stereo image is exceptional, the term holographic is in order. Good size for a desktop speaker. In my case I used a separate woofer below 250Hz. Releving the unit of low end increases the fidelity a few steps. Correction in midrange is necessary. Correction top end is a choice, if you do it correctly, it gives a balanced image, and the units dissappear from the image. Recommended! Well engineered drivers ...

Wie alle Markaudio-Treiber sind auch diese Breitbänder excellent und fast auf gleichem Niveau wie die Alpairs, welche geringsfügig feiner/sauberer auflösen. Die Unterschiede sind aber wirklich nur marginal...wer also etwas Geld sparen möchte, liegt hier genau richtig !
