The versatile 8SW-4HE 8” high excursion subwoofer from GRS is designed to produce excellent low frequency extension in a variety of designs. Suitable for both sealed and vented enclosures, this driver the ideal replacement or upgrade for your existing subwoofers with worn out or blown drivers. Featuring extensive venting, rubber surround, high temperature voice coil, low Fs, and 10.5 mm of excursion the 8SW-4HE is built for remarkable bass response on a budget.

The GRS 8SW-4HE 8” high excursion subwoofer from GRS is an ideal replacement driver for existing subwoofer systems or an excellent choice for new economical designs. Capable of producing powerful bass response in both sealed and vented designs, the 8SW-4HE is suitable as a drop-in replacement for most existing 8” subwoofers.

Frequency Response & Impedance Curve

the GRS 8SW-4HE has a bass-centric response from 30Hz up to 700Hz and is highly efficient within its passband. This efficiency and a low QTS lends itself well to both vented and sealed subwoofers for incredibly deep bass from an 8-inch driver.

Extensive venting through the frame, pole piece, and magnetic gap dissipates excess heat to keep power compression to a minimum, even when driven hard for long periods. The rigid paper cone is supported by a large diameter spider and rubber surround to keep excursion linear while providing reliable performance. With a high temperature 2” voice coil wound on a thick aluminum former the 8SW-4HE can comfortably handle up to 150 watts RMS of power.

I have built two kind of enclosure for this subwoofer, 10L and 31L. The bigger one gives satisfying result.

Voor dit geld ben ik zwaar onder de indruk zeer mooie diepe bassen, de subwoofer is mooi afgewerkt, tot nu toe nog helemaal geen problemen ermee gehad, oftewel een geweldige aankoop waar is zeker geen spijt van heb !

Made a ”soundbar” furniture for my 85” tv, and hide my booksheld fron speakers and center in it. Added 2 of these 8” sub woofer into 2 closed 15L boxes. The did not play that low as I tough they would, but a re-build them to ported and now they play great for movie watching.

Very nice product, great price and impressive performance for a 8" sub. Note that the cutout diameter is way smaller than the one given on the data sheet. I initially cut a 193 mm hole as on the data sheet but it is way too big, a 180 mm or so is better. Apart from that, I highly recommend this subwoofer, it works very well in a small closed box (mine is 15L and it goes down to 40Hz -3dB and 30 Hz -7dB), with some EQ it is perfect.
