The drivers feature a vented pole piece with copper cap, bumped back plate for improved excursion capability, Kevlar reinforced cone with rubber half-roll surround, and a high-temperature 4-layer copper voice coil wound on a polyimide former.

Hey folks — bought this Dayton DCS205-4 on 25 May 2025 and I've been running it for about 5 months. Short story: I like it. I put it in a custom front-ported box (38 L, port tuned to 30 Hz) — sized in WinISD. With that setup it gives a really flat in-room response down to about 29 Hz, and I hit roughly 110 dB SPL with 150 W. For a small driver it’s impressively deep and loud. Why 38 L? After upgrading main speakers for clear mids and highs, contrast to the muddy bass of old active 8" Jamo210 subwoofer was too much. Great Subwoofer - works very well in Mordaunt-Short Alumni 9 Subwoofer cabinet. The original speaker was worn out after 9 years of use. It has a huge magnet with very long throw and was very good for music and a huge hit that could pound the floor (if used as part of Home Theatre) for special effects. Ich habe ihn in ein 21l Gehäuse verbaut. Bassreflex Schlitz 44cm lang und eine Oberfläche von rund 33cm². Er hat so eine 3db Erhöhung auf der Tuningfrequenz zwischen 30 und 40Hz. The speaker replaced a broken speaker in the recently bought Subwoofer Jamo sub 200. The bass is tight and it sounds quite musical as well. I believe it is an excellent choice for such replacements.

Klinkt uitstekend in een kast van 20 liter (netto) met basreflex van 69 * 400mm. Erg diepe bas. Enige planning nodig om die pijp in de kast kwijt te kunnen. PP buis 75mm met een 90 graden bocht.

I ordered 2x4ohm 8" DCS205-4 speakers using the DHL express option. I was happy that the delivery went without a hitch (which is not always the case where I live!) The speakers work very well (although a bit bassey) - particularly considering the price. I am not an audiophile but I found that these speakers provide a near perfect (including the screw holes) .replacement for my Boston Acoustic A70 speakers which are no longer available unless ...
