Product Details

Expanding Banana Plugs with Dual Set Screws and Poly Carbonate Shell 2 Pairs

These locking, expanding banana plug connectors are manufactured with color-coded polycarbonate shells for quick polarity identification and protection from possible short-circuiting contact.

Milled from solid brass and plated with 24 karat gold, to provide a long lifetime of service free of oxidation, each connector features two hex-head screws to create a gas-free connection that holds your speaker wire firmly in place.

Integral to the design of these banana plugs is a central spike, driven by the upper knurled portion of the connector, which spreads the banana plug tines. This action firmly locks the banana plug into 5-way binding posts and banana jacks for a worry-free connection. Accepts up to 8 AWG wire. Sold two pair per package, two red and two black, and includes a hex wrench. Dimensions: 47.6 mm L x 12.7 mm Dia.

Note: When using high-strand cable, tinned leads allow for the greatest retention by the set screws.

I'm very happy with these banana plugs. The opening is probably too large for some of the thinner speaker wire but I crimped a ferrule on my 10AWG wire which then fit in snugly and made a very secure connection. I used these on the amp end of my speaker cable which is difficult to access and they lock in place - they are going nowhere. As well, I tested them with my magnet and they are non-magnetic so they are made of a non-ferrous copper alloy m...
