      This 2.1 x 5.5 mm DC coax jack has an internal switch that disconnects other power sources when the AC adapter is plugged in. Its 8.38mm long shaft thread mounts in panels up to 6.35mm thick.

      Product Details

      2.1 x 5.5mm DC Coaxial Power Panel Mount Jack with Internal Switch and Locking Option

       

      This 2.1 x 5.5 mm DC plug has a built-in switch for disconnecting battery packs when an AC/DC adapter is used. Many products require the use of only alkaline batteries for power. This jack, when wired properly, disconnects the batteries when an AC/DC power adapter is plugged in preventing the batteries from accidently being recharged. Non-rechargeable batteries get extremely hot, leak, and damage equipment if charged. The two smaller (-) terminals (tip positive circuit) on the DC jack separate when a 2.1 x 5.5 mm plug is inserted.

       

      The DC jack's 8.5 mm long threaded shaft mounts in holes up to 12.07 mm in diameter and 6.75 mm thick. Total outer diameter is 14mm without nut. This enables it to fit into 6.35mm wood projects. The jack comes with a mounting nut 16mm outer Dia. x 4.3mm thick. Mounting terminals are 3.05mm W x 3.81mm H x 0.508mm D.
